Research Interests

Dr. Battle is a licensed clinical psychologist whose research focuses on women's perinatal mental health, specifically depression during pregnancy and the postpartum period.  She is currently conducting three treatment development studies to examine the feasibility and acceptability of novel interventions for treating perinatal depression, including:  prenatal yoga, a pedometer-based walking intervention, and home-based family treatment. In addition, Dr. Battle is currently conducting mixed-methods investigation of depression treatment preferences and barriers to care among low-income pregnant women.
