Research Interests

Dr. Miller is Director of the Psychosocial Research Program at Butler Hospital and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. He has expertise in a number of areas including mood disorders and suicidality, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and clinical trials and multi-site studies. He has been continuously funded by NIH for over 25 years for his work on developing and implementing interventions for patients with severe mood disorders. He has been principal investigator of four major clinical trials utilizing cognitive-behavioral treatments, as well as investigator on seven other trials of CBT, including several multi-site CBT trials.
