The Postpartum Support Program Research Study

We are currently conducting a study that provides psychotherapy free of charge for women experiencing postpartum depression.  If you had a baby within the past 7 months and are feeling depressed, down, or overwhelmed, we invite you to call us for more information.

Women enrolled in the Postpartum Support Program study receive 10 to 12 sessions of supportive individual therapy or family therapy for a period of about six months.  When you call, we will ask you a few questions to find out whether you might be eligible for this project.  If so, we will set up an appointment for an initial in-person interview.  Study appointments can be scheduled at times convenient for you and your family.

Who can enroll?

  1. Women who are at least 18 years of age

  2. Women who are between 1 to 7 months postpartum

  3. Women who have a family member available to participate with them

  4. Women who are not currently taking antidepressants or receiving other treatment for depression

Will I have to pay for therapy?

  1. No.  Treatment is provided at no cost to participants.

What about childcare?

  1. You are welcome to bring your baby with you to all treatment appointments

  2. In addition, in many cases, we can provide babysitting for older children so that you can attend your study appointments
